Meetings

Meeting people. It is such a strange thing. You may instantly bond. Or maybe you were weary at first and then slowly grow curious, wanting to know more about that one person that got your attention. You may meet at the weirdest times and at the oddest places. I don't think any meetings are ever a mistake even if they happen by accident. I think what matters most is what you plan on doing after you meet someone. Why did you meet them? Maybe you needed a friend or someone to make you smile. Someone to wake you up and put you back into reality. There is always a reason, you just need to find it.

I dedicate this blog post to someone I met very recently. They showed me that it's okay to be yourself. To love the things you love. To believe in what you believe in. They showed me what it meant to be my own person and for that I am very thankful.

Lord in a Room

I had a dream about an immortal lord, sitting there and ruling his kingdom for a great many days and when I woke up I wrote this.

He sits like royalty,
Apon a throne.
Once in a while,
He'll glance to the right.
To see the sunrise,
It gives him great delight.
And when the moon shines,
His eyes will close.
Always awaiting another day.

Dying Season

I wrote this down after having dreamt of something very similar. I guess it's kind of about beauty fading...

Dying Season
One rose stands.
In the middle of the snow.
Once a field of vibrant colours, this one stays alone.
Forever cold in the infinite dark.
Red against all the whiteness.
Standing out for miles and miles.
All the birds are gone.
Having fled this place of surrounding darkness.
And finally, one petal falls.
Then another as it loses the battle.
For no one can win against life itself.
And at last the final petal falls.
Into oblivion.
Where all the others lay at rest.
It comes to stir the old dead nest.
And thus begins the dying season.

Loving Stars

"Love it like thou shall gaze upon thy stars in a night sky and always wonder."

I wrote this a while ago, it means a lot to me. I wrote it because one day as I was star gazing, I realised, I'll always have questions about stuff and some might not be answered. No matter what though, if I love something, I'll love it like the stars in the night sky, infinite, beautiful and always making me think about why I love that certain thing or what makes it so special. This little quote/poem basically just makes me think about all the good things in life. I really love writing down my thoughts. It helps me remember that everything is special in its own way.

First Blog

Hi, I'm NightNerd. This is my first blog. I'm a teenager who loves reading and writing. In my blogs, I'll probably just be typing up some fictional stories or poems. I'm a total nerd. I'll probably also blog about books that I've either read, am reading, re-reading or want to read. My favourite genre is probably sci-fi or fantasy. I'm not a huge fan on romance. My favourite author would be the wonderful Lisa Jane Smith (L.J. Smith), author of the Vampire Diaries, Secret Circle, the Forbidden Game, Dark Visions, Night World, etc. My favourite holiday is Halloween. I also really enjoy painting or sketching. I'm in the process of creating a website dedicated to books I absolutely adore and admin very nerdy pages on Facebook. I also enjoy vlogging, similar to blogging. I'm a top student and enjoy school. I like taking pictures and editing them. I think music and books would probably be the two things I need the most in my life. I like to listen to music because a song can put my emotions into words that I can't and makes me feel like I'm not alone. I like to read because it lets me escape reality and I can go into this magical world where I have no problems and I can be somebody completely different from who I am. Basically, I'm the type of girl who will have a pen, paper and books with her at all times, no matter what.
